Stay in touch with Torrington Players online

Torrington Players now use a small set of social media channels to share news, photos and opportunities to get involved. Each one has a slightly different job, so you can choose the way that suits you best.

Our aim is simple: make it easy for you to hear about upcoming shows and play readings, and to give a flavour of what happens behind the scenes.

FB PageFacebook Page – news and events

Our Facebook Page is the main place we share public updates:

  • Show announcements and dates
  • Play readings and auditions
  • Links to tickets and the website
  • Photos and behind‑the‑scenes snippets

You don’t have to join anything – just click “Follow” or “Like” and our updates will appear in your feed.

Instagram – pictures and short updates

Our Instagram account is a more visual way to follow what we’re doing:

  • Rehearsal photos and posters
  • Short clips and show‑night moments

If you mainly use your phone to keep up with what’s on locally, Instagram may be the easiest way to follow us.

Facebook Group – for people already involved

Alongside the public Page, we also have a Facebook Group.

The Group is used more like a noticeboard and conversation space for people who already have a connection with Torrington Players – cast, crew, helpers, regular supporters and friends.

Typical posts include:

  • Rehearsal reminders and last‑minute updates
  • Requests for help with props, costumes or front of house
  • Links to posts from the main Page that members can share on

You’re welcome to join the Group if you’d like to be part of those more detailed conversations, but you can follow everything important just by using the Page and Instagram.

Keeping it manageable

To keep things simple for a volunteer‑run group, we:

  • Use the Facebook Page and Instagram for outward‑facing news and promotion.
  • Use the Facebook Group for more practical information and chat between people already connected to the Players.
  • Agree key posts after each committee and production team meeting, so important information is shared clearly rather than scattered in lots of different places.

If you have suggestions about what you’d like to see on any of these channels, please contact us via the website or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
